Dear Dairy, I’ve never really been the one to write about myself as I find writing too tasking but with my current employment position, emmm let’s leave that for another day. Get to meet me first and see if we can be friends…

My full name is MARIAN OLAYINKA JOHNSON. I grew up with my ever loving and ever caring grandma; I call her my Gramzy lol….

 Accustomed to being around primarily adults, I was always mature for my age so much so that even my friends often annoyed me during my adolescent years. I did well at school and also excelled at my favorite hobby singing back then.

I am career oriented, I love to pass knowledge across and I derive joy in giving a helping hand no matter the situation. I am a no nonsense person, I love to be around smart and Intelligent people and just so you know I’m a bully. It’s one of the things I do effortlessly; this skill got me the name “HEADMISTRESS” at work. I hate it when people take my niceness for stupidity but at the same time I cannot allow them stop me from been NICE. Yes you heard me, I AM EXCEPTIONALLY NICE ask around. #tongue out#

 For me, family comes first, I am driven, not just to do great things but to spur the next generation to even greater things. Sometimes I get stuck in relating with people but I sure do know how to distinguish between their slightest little nuances.

Despite a life time of falling short of my own true potential, I’ve always held onto the quote of James Baldwin: “The world is before you and you need not take it or leave it as it is when you came in”.

I am a Christian, I am not religious

For many years in my search for redemption, I needed others to be the hand of God to me. To let me know that if things didn’t work out, they would stand with me even if I stopped believing. I could not bear the responsibility for making sure my pain would eventually be turned into something that would make God look good. What I really needed to know was that in spite of my pain, I would be okay even if things never turned around. Redemption has been misunderstood. Modern Christianity defines redemption as ‘’A state of existence in which the faithful to God receives what they expect to receive out of life and out of God more like getting the desires of one’s heart. When this caricature of redemption becomes the hallmark of our faith it creates a real problem for us and for others. It becomes difficult to approach God outside the context of getting what we want.
